Consider DragThing if you want to launch scripts with hot keys in x.
thanks for pointing that out. i'd been using DragThing and
never even noticed that launch items could have hot keys.
another helper to consider is KeyBoard Maestro. i use it to
run put scripts on keyboard shortcuts in Eudora and iTunes.
it's minimalist compared to QuickKeys (and cheaper), and
comes with assorted other useful features, including a "hide
all apps" function and the ability to target hot keys to
work only when certain apps are active.
