How to get frontmost application?

  • Subject: How to get frontmost application?

I would like to run a script that gets the current frontmost application at
launch, so it can reactivate that application when it's done. Can't figure
out for the life of me how to do that.

This is for a script that will run as an application in both OS 9 and OS X,
and will usually run in the background but will self-activate at intervals.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff Porten
