It may be that it's saving somewhere that you don't expect it.
Try saving a test file; give it an odd name, like, for instance,
"grumblebug"; then use Sherlock to try to find a file by that name.
If Sherlock doesn't find such a file, then use Disk First Aid and/or
Norton Disk Doctor (or any other disk repair utility) to check the hard
disk.
It is highly unlikely that the problem is with Script Editor.
