Hopefully someone is writing Unix for MacDummies. I wish I had the time.

Look in the various executable directories (/bin, /sbin, /usr/bin, /usr/sbin, and /usr/local/bin) for commands that sound interesting, and then see if there's a man page for them. You can also find good bits by chasing the cross-reference links at the bottom of most man pages.

This is incredibly good advice. Those who seek knowledge, find it.

And once again, ManOpen is a wonderful program, although I would like control over initial window placement. OK, I've emailed the author, although I noticed that he makes the source code available. Like I've got time to mess with *his* program!
