Yeah, he really disappeared didn't he? Last thing I remember him

posting included something about him changing jobs maybe.
About a year after he disappeared, JD made very brief reappearance on the
OneClick mailing list - just a few days. He said he was just too busy to
participate on lists. He had been spending a lot of time on Windows as part
of some job/project. (Previously, he had been, like another of our list
members here, a proud exponent of OS 7.6.1, even in the face of OS 9. He did
let on that he would be curious to sample X when it came on the scene.)
Something that might be of interest to you, Richard, with your "Music
Business" signatures, and to Nigel. I once wrote JD privately because I
noticed that one of the script examples he had on his website gave an
incorrect serial number for a Steinway piano of a particular year, part of
an illustration. (I'm a pianist myself, and know a bit about this.) I
wondered how he had come upon it. He told me that he was - in real life - a
piano technician, but had not bothered to check his Steinway manual when he
made up that example. Now who would have guessed?
(Also knowing a bit about England, having lived there for 20 years, it
explained a few things to me about JD...)
