OS X clipboard into existing clipping file

I sent this to the wrong list (oops!). Can anybody here set me straight? How
can I put the current contents of the clipboard into an existing clipping
file (either an empty one or replacing its contents) using Applescript in OS
X? Akua Sweets lets me do this very handily in Classic. Thanks.
