That makes sense, since Finder isn't involved in the creation of such a folder.

(It's at least possible that what happens depends upon whether the
containing folder is open in Finder or not...that would give Finder a
quicker knowledge than the case where the container isn't open, in which
case Finder, sometime later, says "goodness, there's a folder here...I
wonder how that happened.")
