AFAIK. Smile catches and processes all the calls to commands which belong
to the Satimage Addition.
So in principle Smile should never be able to "activate" the Satimage SA at
all.
(For instance, it has been observed many times that calls to Satimage SA's
commands run much faster from Smile.)
Smile can run without the Satimage SA installed. Note however that the
dictionary of the Satimage SA has not been duplicated in Smile: you will
have to deal with chevrons if you get rid of the Satimage SA.
