Thanks. So this:

quoted form of POSIX path of "Macintosh HD:$64 questions:\"In here\":That's
right"

gives me:

'/Macintosh HD/$64 questions/\"In here\"/That'\\''s right'

which I can then use without risk? (Note trend of continually seeking
re-assurance ;-)).
