The scripting for Claris Emailer was done by Dan Crevier, who then went on
to do the scripting implementation, and other code, for Outlook Express and
Entourage. He is now the head (Development Manager) of Entourage, replacing
Jud Spencer, who was the creator of Emailer and then of OE. There aren't
many major commercial apps that have the AppleScripter as top boss, and it's
part of why the scripting continues to develop in each version. OE and
Entourage are in effect the later versions of Emailer that never were.
Anyone who has scripted for one can switch to the other very easily,
although there's a lot more of it in OE and Entourage.
