Dear Script Timer Users,
I have been trying out Script Timer in OS 9.2.2 and have been unable to get
it to work properly in either versions 1.01 or 1.1.1. (The latter is
supported in OS X only, but appeared to work well in OS 9.2.1.) The version
of Applescript that comes with OS 9.2.2 (1.7) apparently has some serious
implementation problems (see
http://www.applescriptsourcebook.com/applescript/applescript170.html#922),
even though it is supposedly the same version as in OS X 10.1.
My advice would be to avoid upgrading to OS 9.2.2 if OS 9 is your main
operating environment for doing Applescripting. Not only will version 1.01
of Script Timer not work, but many of your scripts will also break. Warning:
At least on my machine, trying Script Timer 1.1.1 in OS 9.2.2 results in a
very hard system crash. As it works fine in OS 9.2.1 and 10.1, it appears
the problem is in Apple code.
I am investigating the problem with Script Timer and OS 9.2.2 and will let
you know if I can come up with a fix.
Don
