Sending Info over the web to a Mac.

Hello,

New area for me that I need help on. Web communication.

What are my options with sending and maybe receiving information from a
Script on one Mac to another over the internet.

I would like to know all possibilities but with a focus on vanilla.

What are the pro's and cons of each?
