Using VBA is, IMO, more complicated. We've found that creating custom
apps using VB is "easier" (especially when debugging) to deal with
rather than using functions created by the app. One thing that is
admirable is the ability to record macros and edit the code with the VBA
tools. Macros are typically cross-application capable. This is the
best reason, IMO, to use VBA - to create a quick and dirty hack for one
time uses. There are companies that build entire applications using VBA
in office. We've not reached that point. It all changes every few
years anyway. .Net is nearly here. We'll be more likely to integrate
.Net across the enterprise than using VBA. It seems to be much easier
in that realm. We'll see. As for now, nothing beats AppleScript's
simplicity and portability. I seem to remember hearing of people taking
their AppleScripts and porting them to VBScript, though I've never tried
it myself. Sounds like a daunting task. HTH
