Create alias to application binary inside bundle

Hi all!

I'm new to this list, so please excuse if this has already been answered.

I need to create an alias to the application binary inside the application bundle on Mac OS X. But all I can get is a reference to the bundle directory not the binary inside Contents/MacOS/. Stepping down from there inside the bundle didn't work either.

How can I do that?
