OS 9.2.2 had created many problems for me. I also saw that message in my normal scripts. I followed the path and the file was right where it was supposed to be. Problem was solved by downgrading the AppleScript on my machine.

Apparently OS 9.2.2 also installed AppleScript 1.7. Reinstall AppleScript 1.6 (extension and Scripting Additions) and this *should* solve your problems. Good luck!

Landis

Every since I upgraded to 9.2.2 almost none of the menu commands work. I can
select them in the menu (they're not dimmed out) but nothing ever happens
afterward. (i.e. I'll select the find command but the find dialog never
shows up.)

When I try to set the preferences I get the message "File Mr. iBook:Desktop
Folder:downloads:Smile1.8.4US:Smile :More stuff:Preferences wasn't found"
even though I can follow that path and find that file in question.

So I've been forced to using script editor again and I'm not happy.

Help!
