BOSTON APPLESCRIPT USER GROUP "BAUG" MEETING
Join the Boston AppleScript User Group for their regular monthly
meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 22.
You must register for this event. You can do so at:
http://asp-web.info.apple.com/em/search/detail.lasso?-token.id=EV016186
When entering the building, in addition to your name appearing on the
registration list, you will be required to present a photo ID.
It's a new year and a whole new AppleScript. Version 1.7 was released
along with the amazing AppleScript development tool AppleScript Studio.
This new tool is a very powerful and complex development environment.
There will be an introductory presentation of AppleScript Studio.
The tranisition to OS X, for many of us, is in full swing. We will be
taking a look at what this means to our existing scripts, to our new
scripts, and the differences between the two. To demonstrate these
differences we will write an installer script.
An installer script simply copies files from one location to another.
The trick, generally, is to make sure the "copy to" location exists
and if it doesn't, what to do. This will be a good demonstration of
Finder scripting in both OS X and OS 9.x
