help explain Apple's priorities.

Maybe, but what you seem to be _asking for_ is for Apple's priorities to
match _yours_, which by your own admission are those of a small minority.

The fact that these things matter to a small number is no reason not to push
for them strenuously, but clearly the perceived need is something the people
allocating resources have to keep in mind.

As long as there are lots of issues -- and the transition to OS X raises
plenty -- and limited resources -- always a given -- someone is going to be
making lists of priorities, and someone else is not going to be happy with
the result. (Yes, there are issues I'm not happy with that you could
probably care less about.) With a bit of luck the disappointment will be
temporary; if not, people will have to start looking around for other
solutions.

But I'd be very surprised if rants attacking OS X generally are going to
change anyone's mind...
