We have this same problem in our organization. One of our servers *requires* the MS UAM to connect, and Applescript's mount volume command won't work at all with this server.

Using MS UAM 5.07, the mount volume command yields an error message to the effect of "The user authentication module is missing" -- even though it isn't missing and I can easily mount the server using the Chooser.

Using MS UAM 5.09, the mount volume command yields a different error message: "Finder got an error: an error of type -1070 has occurred."

The server is running Windows 2000 Services for Macintosh, and is set up to require the Microsoft user authentication module.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I like to connect to a w2k server using Microsoft user authentication.
But the standard additions command "mount volume
afp://1.2.3.4/fileservice" offers only the standard insecure clear-text
method of Apple. Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance,
