Hello all,
I have been trying to find information on how to set specific printing
preferences from an AppleScript from outside or within FileMaker Pro 5.5 on
OS X. The reason I am trying to do this is that FileMaker Pro does not save
the Print Dialog box settings whenever FileMaker Pro is quit or crashes.
This would allow me to automate printing PDF files through FileMaker Pro,
which as it stands right now does not work without manual intervention.
There is also no way I have found to automate the printing of PDFs from
within OS X 10.1.2, even though it is a big selling point that it has PDF
functionality built-in. I have searched high and low but I have not been
able to find any documentation or scripts on how to set the preferences for
printing whenever it is necessary from an AppleScript. Is there a script, a
site or any information on the mechanics and syntax needed for automating
printing functions from applications, specifically FileMaker Pro on OS X?
I am sure that others would like to automate printing to PDF files also but
the only way to do this without Acrobat, which is not completely native
currently, is to print them one by one. Any help would sure be appreciated.
