Mr Nebel & Mr Sutherland have provided a solution to the "read before
return" problem. I was generating text files with TextEdit and hence
generating line feeds instead of carriage returns. The following code
works as expected:
read before ASCII character 10
Thanks for the help. I will test my text more tirelessly in times to
come.
