JP,

I believe the icon position script that you refer to was called "broom" & was written by WEB (Bill Briggs) for his article series which appeared in one of the premier Macintosh magazines (sorry, I forget which). I was unable to set positions of icons on the OS X desktop myself, and was forced to abandon 'broom' when moving to the new OS. I suspect it is a capability not supported in OS X.

Perhaps Mr. Briggs knows of a fix for this & he does contribute to this list occasionally. How about it, Bill?

/Michael Turner
