Have an app quit itself

I'm using FaceSpan to have AppleScript mount some directories. I'd like to
have the application quit if certain conditions are met. I don't want to
refer to it by name, such as:

Tell application "Home Directory"
Quit
End tell

Is the syntax "Tell me to quit" acceptable in AppleScript?
