This is one of the coolest things about OS X for many people.
You can use traditional command line compilation, or Project
Builder/Interface Builder.
Simply sign up for an online developer account at:
http://developer.apple.com/
to be able to download (~230 Megs) a recent version of the
Developer Tools.
AppleScript Studio (a Project Builder module) is a blast!
