Who twisted you're tail?
Matthew Stuckwisch responded to your email with a valid point made
somewhat humourously. Namely, to test do script and passwords on an
action which you know requires a password. Extrapolating this a little
further there's a good lesson here. Generally, one should test/change
one thing at a time. In this particular instance, it would be worthwhile
to test do script against something which you've tested in the terminal
and has denied you access. A good example would be to copy a file which
belongs to another user and for which you have no read write access to
your desktop. Try this in the terminal to prove the principle. Now try
it using do script. How does the latter compare to the former?
If you'd followed this type of procedure you may have found the answer
to your own question. Instead, someone else kindly downloaded the
program in question and showed that the unexpected behaviour was with
the program you were targeting rather than with do script.
but 2 emails with your bullshit in my inbox...
Matthew very kindly sent his reply to you directly as well as to the
list. People on digests tend to appreciate this. However, given your
somewhat vitriolic outburst, I'll just post this to the list.
look for some other outlet for your cravings for attention...
Something about glass houses and throwing stones springs to mind here.
