Hi Pat, I'm sorry I can't help you with scripting Quark, but I work in
prepress at a full service printer. I know when we get customer's files
with trim marks, fold lines, crops etc, we get rid of them right away and
resize the document. The imposition program we use, or the layout program
itself, will add crop marks instead. On single/two color presses for spot
color the crop marks are used as registration marks. and for 4 color, the
basic bulls eye with some side guides does the trick. (I'm assuming you
send the files out to a printer when you said you don't want the external
file to travel with the Quark document). In short, any press that gets a
file with a customer's own printer marks will remove them because they
are useless to the printer and it just doesn't work with the way the
printer needs to lay jobs out on a press sheet. You might want to mention
this to your superivisor or better yet, have them speak with your
printer. As for pasting ps into a box, maybe there's an Xtensoin for it,
but i doubt it. The closest thing is a PDF import. Mike
