I'm having huge problems getting the script editor to print scripts.
(Normally I don't need to print out scripts, but sometimes it can be very
useful!)
I have a white 500 Mhz iBook running OS9.2.2 & the latest version of X. I do
most of my work under OS9.
Under 9.2.2 the script editor, when it prints a file, garbles the formatting
horrifically, indenting "set" statements as if they were "repeat"-s.
I've tried printing under osX as a workaround. There the script editor wants
to start up os9, which I usually stop, then thrashes around the hard drive
when the script is sent for printing, lots of whirling, no printing.
(Looking in preview, though, it does at least get the formatting right).
After some testing have concluded that:
Script-files developed under 9.2 won't print under OSX,
but if the file is saved as a different file under OSX then
it will print if the scripts don't use certain AS constructs (references to
OS9 app's??) that AS OSX doesn't like.
Is this conclusion correct? Is this something everyone lives with?
I use an HP935c printer, and have just downloaded and installed the latest
print drivers for both OS9 & X. All other apps seem to print correctly, as
far as I can tell -- I don't use OSX all that much, seems kinda sluggish.
I would most like to have the script editor printing under OS9.
I have AS1.7 installed under OS9. Should I re-install AS under OS9? Or
install an earlier version of AS?
How do I re-install the script editor?
Software updates doesn't seem to support downloading in this situation.
Can I selectively download from the system discs?
Thanks for any help or advice.
PS Is there any prohibition to including advertising-like links in
signatures in mail sent to this list?
Thanks again.
