Chris/Paul, although BBEdit is probably overkill as just a
text editor, there are a zillion ways in which that opening
capability is just what neophyte users need. Got a MS
Word/Works, AmiPro, WordPerfect document and don't have
that app or a translator? Perhaps some old DOS file noone
remembers the app for... Just drag it to BBEdit, and tada,
you see the file contents (even if there is a bunch of
junk, at least you can see the actual text in there
somewhere). This makes it invaluable as a mining tool :)
