Subject: Looking for an Applescript programmer

Hi All,

I'm the CEO of a mac-only database and web development company in
Sydney, Australia.

We have a project at the moment for a font and stock art distributor.

We need an applescript written to generate font sample gifs for
20,000 fonts. We would prefer this to be done using applescript and
photoshop, but are open to scripting other applications to accomplish
this.

If you are interested in quoting on this project, please reply by e-mail.

Thanks,
Adam

Adam,

I have professional experience in this type of project, and am potentially interested I helping you. Several questions:

1. Can you describe the process flow that you intend? Do you want to systematically generate GIF samples for each and every font/style, or do you want a specific sample to be generated in response to user input? is user input taken from a forms page? Is the output to be served via web pages?

2. What is the time frame you have in mind for implementation?

3. Is the font library dynamic?

4. You may know that Photoshop had limited internal scripting capabilities until its most recent version, and that this has complicates its use under AS control. Do you intend to utilize Photoshop 7? An alternative (and often better) solution is GraphicConverter (visit http://lemkesoft.com/us_index.html ), a low price image format conversion application. I've used GraphicConverter to produce thousands of GIF images under AS control. WOuld you consider using GraphicConverter?

5. Do you intend to work under Mac OSX +/or Classic? Will you utilize a mixed host (*nix, Windows, etc) or purely Macintosh environment

I would be happy to discuss this with you further; please let me know if you'd like to arrange a telephone conversation.

Thanks,

Bill Christens-Barry
