The resource on which the visible dictionary is based provides for a
comment, but not for formatting it usefully (3 or four lines of example
after the description).
On top of that, there are constraints on the resource which end up meaning
that the dictionary often lies (if I accept either a number or a date for
something, I can specify one and use the comment to mention the other, or I
can say "anything" and try to narrow it down in the comment). So in that
sense, Apple prevents clarity in the dictionary.
Apple does not, however, prevent manuals, online help, etc, which is where
this stuff should be documented (FileMaker does a good job of this, using
<surprise> a Filemaker database).
The visible dictionary is more a quick (and unfortunately inaccurate)
