Is the picture_folder of the screensaver in OS X scriptable?

Dear listers,
maybe this is an easy one - so forgive me wasting bandwith.
In short: What I would like to do is - using different picture_folders under system X own slideshow screensaver to display different sets of pictures.
Anyone having information on this? - thank you in advance
