Sorry for coming to this late - still catching up on a few things! :-P
The Finder's 'whose' filter might be rather wobbly in some versions
(including mine!) - but I could've sworn that ID was a component of an
alias. Which kinda got me thinking...
Won't this work for you?

...it does for me, even after a folder's been moved - and on a 'vintage'
system. :-)
