Hi all,
I manage a net server with a few scheduled scripts or applescript
plugins. The server is not supposed to restart but it happens
sometimes :)
And when it happens, more often than not my scripts cannot run
anymore, as soon as one of them calls a command from an osax it
stops. The problem is clearly that the osaxen weren't loaded at
startup, there are error messages like 'this string cannot understand
the <<event sysologd>> message etc. I've seen it and other variants
too many times!
I tried many combinations of 'run script ""' or <<event ascrgdut>>
(in a try block) at beginning of scripts but it doesn't seem to help.
I get very tired of this. I can do many wonderful things
automagically on the server but the whole thing will eventually choke
because of this stupid bug. I can't believe an otherwise industrial
strength system is taken down like that. As I said, I'm very tired of
this.
So please please, if you have a definitive answer/better experience
with this, tell me, thanks a lot!!
