Yes.
Well, I can see how that might be desirable, but I just came across
this in the ASLG, which explicitly says that is not the case:
The case, white space, diacriticals, hyphens, expansion, and
punctuation considerations apply only to comparisons performed by
AppleScript. Comparisons are performed by AppleScript if the first
operand in the comparison is a value in a script; if the first
operand is a reference to an
application or system object, the comparison is performed by the
application or operating system.
I wonder if this is merely meant as a warning against relying on
applications participating in considering/ignoring statements, or
whether it's a prohibition against supporting it in applications?
