Yes. I have the latest April Dev Tools installed, which appears to have
quietly moved AS to 1.8.2b4. The version is still reported simply as
"1.8.2", as before, if you execute the AS command 'version' in a script
editor.
This now works for me in OS X:
run script "var x=100;" in "JavaScript"
if you have the js osa component installed, of course. This confirms the
bug fix as reported in the 1.8.2b4 release notes that were mentioned
here on the list.
