On 5/8/02, Shane Stanley commented:
Something curious happened this week. Not long after Steve announced the
death of OS 9, some of my icons took on an odd appearance.
Under 9.x, all AS applets except droplets changed icon -- the new one has
the same outline shape, but filled with a picture of a disk and a white
question mark. Like the icon for Startup Disk in System Preferences in X,
but with a bigger question mark.
And if I boot into X, I get the same icon, but this time only for applets
that have been saved as Classic apps; the others appear as normal, with the
jazzy new icon.
I figured it just needed a desktop rebuild, which I finally got around to
today. But I've done it twice: once as normal, and a second time using the
control in X, to no avail. I'm running 9.2.1 and 10.1.3, both with AS
1.8.2b3.
Any suggestions? The applets run fine, but look a bit odd.
I run into this occasionally when I've downloaded scripts where the
icon has been mucked with. To return to normal, it usually requires
that the offending script be deleted and then a desktop rebuild.
