I had a script that checked for a folder using the Finder on an NT Server --
it would work in alternate runnings of the script. First time, OK; second
time, delay forever; third time, fine; fourth, delay; etc.
After a LOT of scratching bald spot, warming the pot, inserting, deleting
and eating briskets, (BTW is a major fare of delicious West Texas cuisine --
soon to become a programming technique <grin>), I decided to consult this
list and found out this is normal behavior for the Finder. I used code
similar to what JR posted and it solved the problem.
Again, thanks for this list
it is by far the most important resource I've
found for this frustrating yet rewarding enterprise called apple scripting.
