Problem with getting int'l characters

  • Subject: Problem with getting int'l characters

Folks:

I'm having problems scripting some Cocoa applications in Mac OS X--specifically, with getting text. If I try to issue a "get text" command to either TextEdit or OmniOutliner where the text contains accented characters (e.g. i | x etc.), the text I get is truncated right before the accented character--so for instance getting text from a document or an outline item where the text is something like
"Here is my resumi for review"

would yield
"Here is my resum"

I've tried using "get text from <whatever> as international text" but that didn't work either.

Ideas?

Best
Tim
