text offset slow in quark 4.11

hello all,
anyboby having trouble using 'offset' in quark 4.11?
let me explain. i have the following line in my script:
....
set offsetlist to the offset of every character whose font is
"RDUniverFraction"
....
when i run the script containg this code in quark 4.04 it works fast (or
fast enough) but when i run the same script
in quark 4.11 it runs agonizingly slow. i couldnt even tell you how slow it
runs cause i kill the script after 20 or so minutes.
the same script in quark 4.04 completes in under 5 minutes whereas i havent
been able to get the script to complete in q4.11. it just takes too long.
i searched the archives but could not find anything regarding the behaviour
of quark's 'offset' being broken or affected in quark 4.11.
note that i'm refering to the offset command in quarks dictionary not the
offset command of applescript. i need to use quarks offset command because
i'm looking for text with a particular quark property ie: font.

ps: i used offset with q3.32 and i had no problem with it.
