I recieved some great responses to my query today.
Thanks so much to all of you.
I was trying to "ping 172.19.230.200"
But I needed "/sbin/ping -c 1 172.19.230.200"
Being a unix newbie, I didn't realize that to perform this command via
the shell (system osax) I needed those extra commands and paths. I had
assumed a plain terminal command should suffice. I know better now. ;)
