Now this is weird...
Background - I had to give up saving the script as a compiled script and
run it thru osascript. I couldn't live without "path to me". So now my
script is saved as an app. (and its sad because I loved the idea of
keeping it in plain text, modify it thru ssh and execute it with
osacompile and osascript, but anyway...)
I execute my app thru an "open..." line in systems crontab
(/etc/crontab) and it works fine. But if I reboot the machine there is
no way to login thru the gui. The loginwindow only displays the
beachball and looking at "top" I can se the loginserver racing up to
40-50% cpu.
Strangest thing is that behind the loginwindow there is a complete
environment. As long as I make sure the windows are not covered by the
(modal) loginwindow I can do everything there.
Now, I guess this condition is caused by the fact that my script has to
"tell finder..." but how do I get around it - besides using autologin.
Does anybody understand what I'm saying, does anybody have a solution
ready, does Chris think that this is something to look into?
/Jocke
