But doesn't CronniX simply provide an interface for cron? If you use CronniX won't your scripts will still be run via cron?

Hrmph -- now that I look, you're quite right. Someone is going to have to help me out here; this problem has been discussed before, and I know non-cron-based schedulers for Mac OS X were mentioned, but I can't find any of them right now.
