Well,
it depends on if you're using OS X or not. We run a script at
login (I'm assuming you are speaking of OS X) that mounts 2 SMB(Windows)
shares (they are central storage shares) I built a small applescript
studio app that has a nice interface. The user inputs their username and
password, and the script figures out which shares to mount. It's pretty
darn easy and there's no need to use a UNIX command. There's a Finder
command for mounting a server (I need to look at my code for the proper
phrasing.) It's very reliable, at least in our experience.
