I finally got Unicode support into my AS Studio application so that AS would stop erroring on Cyrillic and/or Runic text. Surprisingly, AS recognizes lowercase/uppercase for Cyrillic letters, and considering/ignoring the case of these works just like in traditional Roman script.

My problem now is in the Runic script, which makes up all of 2 of 31 letters of the Icelandic alphabet. Specifically, the characters designated by the HTML code ð and þ

Hello Matthew,

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation but a few years ago we had a longish discussion on another list about precisely those two characters. This was for pre-OS X music notation software. Turned out that one has to have a CE font using those characters being the current system default font (like from the Keyboard menu).
