Thanks for your comprehensive answer.
I suspected something like that. But I didn't install Entourage (nor
used it).
I just occasionally use Word/Excel, and the daemon gets launched - not
always, from times to times.
Just hate all those apps that do lots of things you never asked for (not
speaking about some reminiscences: "big M$ is watching you" ;-) )
