Choose folder works here on OS8.6 AS & SA 1.3.7. Even when deeply embeded in
Quark tell blocks. But I had a possibly related symptom.

After boot up, when I ran the first script that uses display dialog (also
from Standard Additions), I got a similar error about not understanding the
call. If I just recompiled the script from Script Editor, it and all others
using Standard Addition calls worked fine. Actually, if I compiled a new
script with a content of just "x", it corrected the problem until the next
reboot. Sometimes just opening the script in Script Editor worked.

After I removed Satimage OSAX 1.8.4, the problem stopped. Satimage OSAX
doesn't have Display Dialog or Choose folder but it caused Standard
Additions to not work unless a script were at least opened in Script Editor
first. Maybe there is another OSAX that also causes Std. Add. to fail.
