Kai,

Interesting alright, you received #1061 two days after I did. Don't you just hate the effects of wormholes through warped space-time continuums? D'oh!

Offer stands for whenever you may need it. I'm a packrat from hell, I never throw anything away (feel pity for my poor over-stuffed inbox!). The offer's for the digests of course, I won't share the glue bottle with anyone!

As for the list police, I plan to enable an SEP field [1] around them, which will take care of the problem sufficiently for my needs.

As for footnote[12], I apologize. It was tasty though, with just the right amount of spice ...

[1] Somebody Else's Problem fields are known to render things the mind doesn't want to come to terms with invisible so they can be properly ignored. That's how those darned aliens [2] showed up in the first place.

[2] The aliens get blamed for lots of things, but it's just because we don't understand them. If we were to go to their home planet, they would blame us for everything too.

[3] 3 weeks prior to last Monday afternoon? Oh yeah, that damned wormhole ...

[4] I did remember to thank you for that delicious footnote 12, didn't I?

Sorry if this is late, not only do I receive digests also but I get
them at work, so I tend to get "backlogged" early in the week. If it
helps at all, I have received all the mentioned digests, but they
didn't come in order:

#1060 came on 11/13 @ 5:14pm.
#1063 came on 11/14 @ 5:21pm.
#1061 came on 11/15 @ 8:12am.
#1065 came on 11/15 @ 12:45pm
#1062 came on 11/15 @ 2:45pm
#1064 came on 11/15 @ 6:56pm.

I'd be happy to send any missing digests to you, if you like. Just let
me know if you want them (or in fact need them).

Thanks Dave - that's a very kind thought.

Fortunately, my digests (finally) appear to have caught up with each other.
So I'm now back to dealing with the more usual terrestrial time shifts -
rather than those particularly nasty, disorientating[1], (clearly)
alien-induced[2], fluctuating warps in the space/time continuum[3].

What I find interesting, even taking account of our different time zones, is
the remarkable variation between our individual delivery times. For
comparison, here's how things eventually turned out for me (also in order of
time received[4]):

Digest Time Received
------ --------------
#1060 14/11/02 1:15
#1062 15/11/02 1:19
#1065 15/11/02 20:47
#1063 15/11/02 22:52
#1064 16/11/02 2:57
#1066 16/11/02 6:07
#1067 16/11/02 12:09
#1068 16/11/02 15:02
#1069 16/11/02 20:32
#1070 17/11/02 1:51
#1061 17/11/02 4:51
------ --------------

I guess someone left an open glue bottle next to the list server ...
;-)

Ahaaaa! Then THAT would explain those curious sniffing noises[5]!

Thanks again for the offer, Dave. (Could you keep that open[6] - just in
case?)... ;-)

Best wishes.

Kai

==================================

[1] Why, only the other day - when returning home from work, I could have
_sworn_ I met myself heading out for the office (not a pretty sight)!!!

[2] [gasp!] - How do they DO that???

[3] Or am I becoming just a bit [shudder-twitch-squeak] paranoid here?

[4] GMT (and purely to contribute further to the general theme of confusion,
I've thrown in a 24-hour clock and British date formatting - for FREE!) ;-)

[5] I thought I overheard someone recently[7] referring to the list
'swerver' - but then I _might_ have been mistaken...

[6] Ummm... when I say "keep that open", I am of course referring to the
_offer_, and NOT to the glue bottle!

[7] ...or perhaps that was... imminently?

[8] Footnote 8 is scheduled to surface sometime around the next lunar
eclipse (which is likely to occur approximately 3 weeks prior to last Monday
afternoon[9]).

[9] This is also (it's rumoured) the day the list police are due to step in
to administer a resounding rap across the knuckles - and issue a most severe
rebuke - for taking this thread hopelessly OT[10].

[10] Ah, but I intend to plead mitigating circumstances - due to the
proximity of an open glue bottle that someone carelessly left lying about...

[11] Somehow these footnotes seem to have inexplicably ended up in numerical
order. Sorry for any confusion caused by this curiously random phenomenon!

[12] Aaaaargh!!!... OK - so who ate my footnote 12?
