How does osascript decide which app to use? And how can I change its mind?
Do you mean osascript? osascript simply runs AppleScript (or other)
scripts, so it will do whatever your script contains. If you're
talking about a shell script, then you can set the app with the syntax
open -a "Smile" scriptname
open -a "Script Editor" scriptname
open -a "Script Debugger Demo" scriptname
