FileMaker Pro, get image by reference

Hi there,
I want to use FileMaker Pro as a image-database using a thumbnail and
the assets reference. This works well since it's one of the new
features in version 6.
But the asset reference is a URL!
My Problem:
After doing a seach action in FileMaker a like my script to copy the
found items, by using it's reference, to a selected folder on my
local machine.
The image are stored on a network volume. I tryed a lot of things but
I can't get it to work.
Any help, please!
