Very funny. It's the mailing list server for this (and other Apple user
group) mailing lists, which is not configured to understand and maintain
MacRoman or MacLatin (Macintosh) encoding of so-called high-ASCII characters
(characters typed on a US keyboard using the option key, by and large). All
Mac email readers do it fine: if you cc someone directly, they'll see it as
you wrote it. Most Mac mailing lists I'm on are configured to do it
correctly, too. Just not the Apple lists. I'm not permitted any further
comment.
