In fact Eudora nine years ago was more scriptable than Entourage. We

As I mentioned in another place, Entourage X seems to come without a

scripting dictionary so far.
Wow...I must not be running tons of scripts in E'rage X...or perhaps you
didn't actually look at the app. But since you insist on starting this flame
war yet again...
Here's an easy one. *Without* external applications, AND without
undocumented calls/settings etc., using ONLY *published* terms in the
applications dictionary:
Do the following in Eudora for OS X:
1) using Eudora's internal scheduler, manually create three schedules that
run three scripts (one each) at the following intervals...once per minute,
once per hour, once per week. What the scripts do is immaterial within the
limitations that they can only call standard additions, osax/extensions that
ship with Mac OS X 10.2, Eudora itself, and cannot run outside of Eudora. In
other words...NO CRON.
2) Set up four LDAP server entries via Applescript. All four *must* be
accessible, once set up, from the standard Eudora GUI. No hidden codes
allowed. Two must use SSL.
3) Manually create two rules one for incoming mail, one for outgoing mail.
The rules must sort on the following: Subject AND from AND recipient...the
result must be to run a script from the rule. Script rules from challenge 1)
apply here as well.
4) using only a script in the script menu, create 55 signatures. All
signatures must be accessible to all accounts via the standard UI. For extra
credit...set all but two random signatures to be used randomly by one
account.
Scripts entered will be run on a stock install of Eudora running under Mac
OS X 10.2 Any scripts that violate the rules won't be considered, and the
author teased ;-) All four challenges must be beaten with the entry. No
doing 1) , 4) a month later. All or nothing, no partial credit.
Until all four challenges have been met, or acknowledged to not be possible
under the current version of Eudora, (I'll allow the Beta of 5.2 that was
released on 1 October 2002 to count), or the contest expires, which is on 8
October 2002 at 11:59:59, US Eastern time, let's give this flame war a rest,
hmmm?
